Using antecedents’ verified traditional bread dough preparing technology, manufacturing takes about 24 hours. History

JSC ‘Klaipėdos duona’ – the pride not only of all the citizens of Klaipėda, but also the leader of Lithuania’s bread bakers traditions nurturance and development. The mechanized bakery in Klaipėda worked already in 1832. It was the first bakery in the region, where steam was used in bread baking, thus scalded bread formula year by year is maintained and nurtured so far. The bakery of the company ‘Klaipėdos duona’ was established in 1977. Since establishment here have been working the best bread baking masters, who bake bread according to the antecedents’ scalded bread recipes, using only high-quality flour, yeast, sourdough and scalded flour without any chemical additives. Due to the exceptional taste and scent the bread of JSC ‘Klaipėdos duona‘ quickly has become loved not only in the region of Klaipėda, but throughout Lithuania.

The company’s production is highly valuated not only by customers, but also bread industry experts. The finest evidence – bread ‘Klaipėdos plikyta’ was awarded by Lithuanian Confederation of Industrialists as ‘Lithuanian Product of the Year’ 2000’ and ‘Lithuanian Goods 2000’, round waffle sheets – ‘Lithuanian Product of the Year’ 2005’ in gold medals. Bread ‘Palanga močiučių’ was twice awarded in the contest ‘Best Lithuanian bread’ – for nurturance of traditions and certified as the best white rye bread of 2008. Bread ‘Klaipėdos plikyta’ received a second gold medal as ‘Lithuanian Product of the Year’ ’2008’.

Facts

At the present approximately 180 kinds of baked products are made in the company. 30 types of bead are baked, 80 – various bread, pastry and confectionery products. 15 000 t production are manufactured per year. The company owns over 400 employees. The quality and safety of the products are assured, because work performance is done under the quality management system ISO 9001: 2008.
